E-ticket with drawing of Anastasija Volkova is ready
It should be reminded that on May 14 this year "Rīgas satiksme" organized an event for pupils of children and youth centre "Mīlgrāvis", who visited tram depot No. 5 in Brīvības Street 191. After that the children were offered to draw a new design for the e-ticket under the guidance of artist Jānis Anmanis, the theme of the drawings was "Culture and transport traffic in Riga", which was devoted to Riga’s status of the European Capital of Culture in 2014. From May 19 till June 30 every visitor of "Rīgas satiksme" website could vote for one of 28 drawings submitted for the contest, and the drawing of Anastasijas Volvkova received a majority of votes, 1795 from 9036.
The tradition of organizing annual events at "Rīgas satiksme", where children draw a new design for the e-ticket, started five years ago. In 2010 and 2012 "Rīgas satiksme" received children from Riga orphanages, in 2011– from Jānis Rozentāls Riga Secondary School of Arts and the Latvian Academy of Youth and Children Artistic Fantasy, but last year – the former patients of the Hemato-oncology Department of the Children Clinical Hospital. Despite the new design, the functions of the e-ticket remain unchanged.
